Alleys were once necessary to urban life. They provided critical access and functionality for public services like waste management, utility companies, and delivery services. Often overlooked, these spaces are still vital to our experience in the city. Alleys reveal tales of our built, social, and environmental histories. These spaces also promise walkability, social interaction, and public art.
